Welcome from our Founder

Welcome to the Pathways to PUSH®, a training and workforce service of The Perinatal Unit for Systems of Health (P.U.S.H.). I'm Jacqueline, Founder of P.U.S.H. It is an honor as we begin to roll out years of our work and share the mission that drives our team. My journey to maternal health initiatives began with deeply personal experiences, moments of vulnerability and advocacy during my own pregnancies that revealed how easily patients can be sidelined and how critical it is to have knowledgeable, compassionate support at every stage of childbirth. These experiences led to the creation of P.U.S.H., with the goal of helping families ensure their voices are heard.

10+ years ago, after becoming a first-time mom, I began developing strategies to help advance the CHW workforce in perinatal health, later expanding these efforts to include Doulas. I realized how vital these roles are in improving health outcomes for families from diverse backgrounds and communities. P.U.S.H. was founded with this purpose in mind. Our work stands out not only because of our firsthand experience in pregnancy, childbirth, and navigating the healthcare system, but also our deliberate approach: we offer not just training, but ongoing support for practical learning and career growth in perinatal health.

As CHWs, Doulas, and related health services providers, you are the essential bridge between families and the healthcare system.
